A preschooler is a growing, feeling, experiencing individual, who learns by play.  They are acquiring skills and learning about themselves, their world, and the inter-relation between the two.  It is important to remember that:

Play is "the way a child explores and orients himself to the actual world of time and space, of things, animals, structures and people. Play is the child's work."

Charnwood School provides a pre-school experience where the children can explore, manipulate, build, touch, listen and watch.  We believe that children learn best when they experience or discover for themselves.  Our role is to provide an environment and an atmosphere, which encourages each child to explore and try, in spite of frustrations and failures.  Our role is also to help the children learn to be independent and confident in their abilities and positive in their feelings about themselves.
